A Tale of Two Kings: What to Expect

A Tale of Two Kings: What to Expect

Does it seem like all things Christmas get bigger and louder each year? The music, the lights, the events filling up the calendar. Sometimes it feels like all things Christmas are a lot to keep up with—doesn’t it?

You and your family are invited to slow down, sit back, and experience Christmas at Kensington. There are 38 services across the five metro Detroit locations: Birmingham, Clarkston, Clinton Township, Lake Orion and Troy. Join us as we revisit that very first Christmas: small, humble, quiet. Through a moving, artistic service, we’ll bring you A Tale of Two Kings and answer the question: Why did Jesus enter the world in such a common, ordinary way?

You can expect a relevant and relatable message, singing, Christmas cheer, lots of friendly people, holiday treats, and a special Christmas experience designed for the whole family.

Christmas for the Whole Family

The Nursery

The nursery is open for little ones from birth up to two years of age. While adults and older kids are experiencing A Tale of Two Kings in the main auditorium, babies are cared for in a safe, secure, and loving environment. They are prayed for, sung to, and receive plenty of cuddles. While children’s programming is offered and encouraged, little ones are welcome to join families in the auditorium for the main service as well. Kensington also has a nursing mother’s room at each of our campuses which provides a quiet place for mothers and their young ones.

Kids Ages 2-5

Happy Birthday, Jesus! Your preschoolers are invited to join in on the biggest birthday celebration of the year. They will experience the Christmas story in an age-appropriate, kid-friendly manner, listen to worship music, and learn a Bible verse. Led by trained staff and volunteers, the program taps into the kids’ excitement for the holiday and helps them understand the reason for the season. Even shy children will warm up quickly to our friendly staff and fun-filled activities.

Our kids’ area is safe and secure. The separate and secured kids’ area is limited to parents-only for drop-off and pick-up. Other than parents or guardians, staff, and the children themselves, no one else is permitted entry. Upon arrival, parents and children receive numbered tags at the welcome desk or kiosk. Staff checks that tags match at pickup. For more information and frequently asked questions about our kids’ programming, visit kensingtonchurch.org/kids.

Plenty of photo opportunities. Come a little early to grab a photo in our decorated lobbies.
