Detroit Mom Welcomes Lauren, a St. Clair Shores Mom

I am so excited to introduce myself to the Detroit Mom community. My name is Lauren Dalton and I run on post-workout adrenaline, coffee, and organized chaos. I have been blessed to be able to stay home with my littles for the past 18 months on an extended maternity leave, but come January you will see me back in the friendly skies as a flight attendant. Travel is a passion of mine and I love to experience new places and interact with so many new people. When I am not working or chasing around two babies, I am very dedicated to my health and fitness. I am a self-proclaimed Orange Theory addict.

Plan The Day

I am obsessed with planning and have each day down to the minute. This is definitely a blessing and a curse. My friends nickname me the “events coordinator” and joke that I need to just be on a shared google calendar to keep up with all the activities. My avid planning allows me to schedule in items that are important to my wellness journey. It can also be my demise in the sense that I need to fill each and every moment and I never truly have a “rest.”

Family

I have been married to my amazing husband Cody for six years. He is the most selfless, motivated, and trustworthy person I have ever met. I am a true believer in love at first sight, because from our first date I knew he would be my husband. We have two children, Darren (2) and Kamryn (8 months). Our journey to parenthood took a bit longer than we had hoped. After trying for a year for our first we called on the help of the fertility clinic.  Ten months, three medicated cycles, and three IUIs later, we finally got that WE WERE PREGNANT! I was finally going to be a mom! With our second it was a completely different story. After only one month of casually trying, we got that big fat positive.

Back To My Hometown

I grew up in St. Clair Shores, and as much as I never wanted to be the person to stay in their home town, after 11 years of being away I found myself back two miles from where I grew up. It truly is a wonderful place to raise a family. It offers many wonderful parks, events, and great restaurants. One of my favorites recently has been Zefs.  I LOVE bang bang shrimp and truffle fries.

I am very excited to document and share my return to work journey, especially with it being such a nontraditional career. Sharing what worked and what didn’t work going from a stay-at-home mom to back into the workforce are what I look forward to sharing. I hope to offer travel tips and ways to make flying with littles a bit easier. I also hope to connect and encourage other moms who are or have gone through the infertility journey, as well as women who are on the road to better themselves through health and fitness.
