Free Delivery and Takeout Around Detroit

Are you wondering how to get free or reduced delivery while you keep social distance during a worldwide crisis that the lot of us were totally not prepared for? You’re not the only one!

So, is it safe to eat takeout in the middle of a world-wide crisis? The short answer for now is yes, for the most part! Currently the CDC and the FDA both suggest there is no evidence of food consumption being associated with corona virus transmission. So, take a night off cooking!

In addition to chains offering free delivery to quick-fix our needs, many third-party delivery systems are working to support local establishments, bars, and restaurants by offering modified delivery services. The list keeps growing for popular third-party delivery companies. Many restaurants partner with third-party food delivery companies instead of providing their own delivery services. They take the work out of making dinner and lets face it: now, more than ever, their ability to feed our families is helping local establishments keep their lights on in this crisis. A lot of essential employees are revamping guidelines and following meticulous protocol to handle and deliver food safely.

It doesn’t hurt to be overly cautious of the very intense realities many people in the food business are dealing with right now given their ongoing exposure at work. Continue to keep them and your family safe by practicing safe handling and following food-exchanging etiquette.

  • Be Patient. A lot of people weren’t prepared for this and we’re all adjusting together.
  • Tip generously. Have you heard of the term “hazard pay?” These people are considered critical infrastructure, feel free to tip them as such!
  • Support them in other ways such as purchasing gift cards or donating to industry relief funds.
  • Leave a rating. The restaurant is probably feeling the setback. Leave a review!
  • Some places are adjusting promotions rapidly as information changes. Stay updated.
  • Sanitize what you can including money, cups, surfaces, etc. before exchanging or indulging.
  • Refrain from sharing food and utensils.
  • Wash your hands before and after enjoying delivery and take away.
  • Minimize human contact when exchanging goods.
