Introducing Kelsey Fox: A Royal Oak Mom

With the mitten tattooed on my skin, it’s not hard to see that I am a Michigan girl through and through!

I grew up in Rochester Hills when it was still considered mostly rural with some scattered suburbs. Once in high school, my family moved to Clarkston to live that lake life. Currently, I live in Royal Oak and 100% embrace the young and busy atmosphere. R.O. is the perfect location for my family. I can walk to the zoo with my son, ride my bike to the farmers market for the adult beverage events, and hop on the expressway for a short drive to Detroit to visit my husband and lunch at the beach bar at Campus Martius! I am an urban farmer and huge advocate for the Detroit comeback! And lastly, I enjoy trying the new offbeat restaurants, attending Red Wings games (LONG LIVE THE JOE) and the occasional trip to the Fox for concerts.

In 2011, I graduated from Oakland University with my BS in Elementary Education. For the past few years, I’ve been teaching reading and writing part-time to fourth and fifth graders at a private Catholic school. Working part-time has given me the opportunity to publish my first children’s book in 2016 “Just Try It Wyatt.” I then published book two of “The Adventures of Wyatt” series a year later. Currently, I am working on a new book that I hope to submit to publishing houses within the year.

My husband Steve and I got married in 2014, in what I think was the best wedding ever! If you know me, you know I LOVE party planning, so no details were overlooked. I even became ordained, though I did not perform my own wedding, I am open for bookings!Introducing Kelsey Fox: A Royal Oak Mom

In 2016, we welcomed into our lives our perfect baby boy, Cody Joseph. He is SO full of life and energy! I have affectionately created a photo log documenting “The Adventures of Cody Gets Stuck,” so you can imagine how he keeps us on our toes. Embracing that hot-mess mom life, Cody and I are always on the go. I can’t sit still for too long and enjoy trying new classes or outdoor activities with him. Becoming a mom was an eye-opening experience. I’ve always been selfish and self-centered. But, the first time I held my son, I realized that he was now my entire world. My husband and I hope to expand our family very soon!
