Introducing Sarah Fuller…a Bloomfield Township Mom

You might see me double fisting a couple venti Starbucks skinny vanilla lattes with a smile and bags under my eyes; it’s how I roll. I’m mostly a stay at home mom with twin girls that play hard and sleep rarely. We love life. Even on little sleep, we keep a positive vibe around here.

My girls are one part crafty and one part athletic, so we are always on the move or creating something great. If we are having a “home day,” we usually spend a good chunk of it in the kitchen.  I love to bake and the girls usually jump in there with me. They have become quite the little bakers. I love Pinterest and the ease of finding fun or food and making it happen quickly; it’s my lifeline.

Pre-Game

For me, it was love at first sight. I just knew. My darling husband and I met about 20 years ago. We married 10 years ago on Hilton Head Island. He brings balance to my life: he is the chill and voice of reason that I sometimes need. He works hard but always finds a way to make time for what’s important.

Prior to our sweet little angels arriving, I did a little time in the fine art and interior design program at Wayne State University. About a semester before I was scheduled to complete my degree, I shifted gears and moved into a community health program. I am passionate about art and interior design; I truly love to see what people do with their creativity. It amazes me. Unending passion is something I have a ton of but not something I could happily create a life-long career from. It came back around though, just in a different form.

An employment opportunity to work for a premier building firm shaped and molded me. Built on a partnership, each member brought something bold to the mix: entrepreneurial spirit, expert attention to detail, gentle sales, strong work ethic with ever-flowing and positive family-centered attitudes and values. Those values seeped into my skin and eventually pushed me to launch a company of my own. My free time was spent coordinating events and weddings as a side gig to generate income during the economic downturn.

Half Time

I poured my time and resources into my own company and was able to get it off the ground, coordinating weddings. I love, love, love it! Who doesn’t love a wedding? I was seven months pregnant while coordinating the last wedding that brought me joy.  Round and swollen, nothing stopped me! I worked as if I had no limitations. Turns out, I do have limitations! Who woulda thunk? As a result, I was ordered to bedrest shortly thereafter. The weddings I took on after my girls were born did not elicit the same happiness. It was hard being away all night, and if an emergency came up, calling in was not an option. I ended up shutting things down and putting the business to rest. It was a good thing; my attention was needed at home. A new adventure was beginning, and I didn’t want to miss a minute of it!

Game on!

Ready, set, go…twins were born! We have been movin’ and shakin’ ever since! It’s been fun, beautiful, hard, amazing, painful, and stressful. I feel happy that I was able to be home with my girls. I am grateful for the support system we have been blessed with.  Along the way, we have dealt with a lot of anxiety, stress, and worry in our children and family, which led me back to my interest in health and well-being. I began taking better care of myself in order to take better care of my family. It was a good thing!

Naturally, I took it a step further. I immersed myself in a therapeutic yoga training program with Yoga Medics. Yoga Medics gave me the tools and education to work with my girls at home. I continued my education and earned a children’s certification and now teach yoga a few times a week. I still love a great party; it’s just different now. We prefer unicorns and glitter over wedding dresses and honeymoons.

Thank you Lauri Dailey Photography!

Our happy little family, including our girlies (going on 8 years old), my husband and I, and our little pup, Dolly, live in Bloomfield Township. I love all the fun and craziness that comes along with being part of a family and being a mom. Here’s hoping that one of our family adventures (or mishaps!) resonates with another family out there! Cheers!
