Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas

Easter is fast approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about what that Bunny will be bringing your sweet little one. While I have no problem with candy, my girls enjoy dessert, and I often use it as a form of bribery positive reinforcement, the amount of candy around at Easter time is enough to make my head spin. In my case, not only do my girls get an Easter basket “from the Bunny” they also get one from both sets of grandparents, and the great-grandparents. At the end of the day, our cupboard runneth over with sweet treats. I mean we still have candy left over from last Easter so we really don’t need to add more from this year. I decided that we would do a candy-free Easter basket!

There are so many options for a candy free Easter basket, but don’t worry I’ve got you covered with some ideas!

The above is an example of what my girls will be getting, it includes:

  • a shirt
  • a book
  • fun fuzzy socks
  • band aids (yes, band aids, because they need one for ever minor ache on their body, and the ones in their basket were from the dollar spot)
  • stickers
  • a fun plate
  • a little flower to grow
  • hair bows

Did this all come from Target? Yes, but I own the fact that I’m a #basicmom. What’s great is that these items could work well for any age or gender. But if you were looking for something a little different, why not do themed Easter baskets? Think of some thing your child loves, and start brainstorming items that relate to that. I’ve come up with a few, if you need some help to get the wheels turning.
