Black-Owned Food + Restaurants to Support in Detroit

Detroit is proud to host a rich history of food and drink, which includes many Black-owned bars, restaurants, and other businesses. Now, more than ever, amidst the pandemic and its disproportionate effect on Black communities – layered in with systematic racial injustice – we understand the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses right here in Detroit.

Black-owned business month is wrapping up with Black Restaurant Week right here in Detroit, and there are lots of events happening this weekend! One small way to make a positive impact is to spend our dollars at our treasured Black-owned businesses. Redirecting our economic resources is a small way to effect change. Our efforts will help keep people employed and support our Black community, loved ones, and Black-owned businesses through a continued trying time.

Check out some of our favorite Black-owned restaurants and food trucks, and click here for the full details on Detroit’s Black Restaurant Week.

Becoming a better ally begins with making a choice. The choice to show up – no matter the size of the impact – is up to you.
