The magical story is told through a three-part series, Act 1 on Palm Sunday, Act 2 on Good Friday, and Act 3—the finale—on Easter weekend, unveiling the extraordinary journey of Jesus Christ. The Greatest Show on Earth is all about the vanishing and reappearance of Jesus.

Attendees will embark on a journey to experience the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection in a visually-stunning performance, including aerial dancers, moving music and storytelling, statutes that come to life, jugglers, acrobats, and a stage set like a circus tent. While adults and older kids are experiencing this extraordinary display, special programming is available for younger children.

Preschool and elementary kids will learn practical truths about Jesus and the story of Easter through activities, stories, and skits that are relevant to each age group. The nursery welcomes little ones from birth to 2 years of age, where they are cared for in a safe, secure, and loving environment. Babies are prayed for, sung to, and receive plenty of cuddles. Kensington also offers a nursing mother’s room at each of our campuses which provides a quiet place for mothers and their young ones.

Here’s a glimpse into the magic of Easter at Kensington:

Act I – Palm Sunday | March 25

Here’s the scene: Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. He is hailed as King, and people wave palms and lay their robes down as a red carpet. What could have been an ordinary scene, is permeated with the extraordinary. The Palm Sunday service will unveil some of the hidden, and life-changing truths about Jesus Christ.

Just for the kids: K-Grade 5
During services, an elementary program is offered for children Kindergarten-Grade 5. In a circus-themed environment, kids will learn that because Jesus is alive, everyone is welcome in God’s family.

Just for the kids: 3-5-year-olds
The Palm Sunday programming for our young ones will teach, God made me, God loves me, and God wants to be my friend forever. Kids will be invited to participate in interactive worship and the Bible story.

Act 2 – Good Friday | March 30

In a sudden reversal, the people’s affection grows cold. Jesus, hailed as King just days before, is sentenced to death by the religious elite, the people themselves, and the Roman rulers. He endures agony beyond imagination and dies like a criminal on the cross. Jesus allowed this to take place—it was voluntary. He did it for love. He did it to save you and me. But they didn’t know that yet. All they knew was that Jesus was gone.

Just for the kids: 3-5-year-olds
Kids will learn a key concept: Jesus is alive! Children will hear the Good Friday story told by one of our teachers and Dominic the Donkey puppet.

Note: Actors on stage will portray Jesus’ arrest, beating, and crucifixion. While Kensington encourages families to experience the story of Good Friday together, we ask parents to use discretion before bringing children under grade 3 into the service.

Act 3 – Easter | March 31, April 1

This is the greatest finale in The Greatest Show on Earth: Jesus is alive again! This spectacular reversal is the best news you and I have ever heard. He is back, and victorious over all—even sin and death. Join us as we celebrate what this means for people everywhere and what this means for you personally. Kensington’s Easter service was designed for kids, ages 6 and older, to experience the magic of Easter with their parents in the main service.

Just for the kids: 3-5-year-olds
Immersed in a farmyard theme, Pepper the Piglet will be teaching the Easter story. Kids will leave with an understanding of God’s command to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Kids will also get crafty by making a bunny puppet and participating in an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt—with a twist!
