Winter is a wonderful time to experience the Detroit Zoo and its125 acres of award-winning, naturalistic habitats designed to meet the animals’ needs while offering guests incredible views and experiences. Many animals are active in the colder winter months, including the gray wolves, wolverines, Japanese macaques, camels, polar bears, arctic foxes, and red pandas.
You can also explore the many indoor areas, including the Edward Mardigian Sr. River Otter Habitat, Matilda R. Wilson Free-Flight Aviary, Butterfly Garden, Holden Reptile Conservation Center, National Amphibian Conservation Center, Great Apes of Harambee and Polk Penguin Conservation Center.

Wild Lights: Make it a holiday tradition
November 17 – December 31
Tickets are now on sale for this spectacular holiday light display. For 24 nights, more than five million LED lights will illuminate trees, buildings and 265 sculptures – more than 220 of which are animals. Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter and enjoy holiday entertainment for all ages.
There are different prices for Wild Lights based on the time and day. The website always has the best pricing so make sure you visit HERE for times and prices. Parking is an additional cost.
