The other night during dinner, Dan (my lovely husband) brought up a good question. Every year, weeks and weeks in advance, families make reservations at a nice country club or restaurant for a big “all you can eat” Mother’s Day Brunch. But where are all of the Father’s Day brunches? Why do the guys get left out?
I asked him, do you really want to spend your day eating eggs benedicts and sliced ham? Good point – he said. Rather – this should be a day in which the wives/mommies let the husbands/daddies do WHATEVER they want! Such things as: Go play golf, go fishing, go to their friend’s house and drink all day, go to the lake (more beer), stay home alone and watch sports center in peace and quiet.
Well, dear Daddy, this year I am going to give you what you want. I will take the kids away from the house in the afternoon so that you can have it all to yourself. And while you have no kids to feed or diapers to change, this “freedom” will allow you to have time to finish the half started brick patio project in the backyard.
OR, you can pick from the list below of one of the many events Metro Detroit has to offer for the “Best Daddy in the World” weekend!
