Book of the Month: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones
Synopsis
Celestial and Roy are living together as newlyweds in the south. As they settle into their married life, Roy is unexpectedly arrested and sentenced to 12 years for a crime Celestial knows he didn’t commit. Celestial finds herself lost for the first time in a long time, taking comfort in Andre, her childhood friend and best man at their wedding. The longer Roy is in prison, the less Celestial holds him in her heart.
