Dr. Carole Kowalczyk, M.D.
Dr. Carole is the founder and medical director at Michigan Center for Fertility and Women’s Health. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist. She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Carole earned her medical degree from Wayne State University. She is also Associate Residency Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. John Hospitals and is Assistant Clinical Professor FTA at Wayne State University. Patients praise her for providing superior medical treatment that gets results, with compassionate, hands-on personal care.
Dr. Nicole Budrys, M.D.
Dr. Nicole Budrys is dual board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She sees patients at the Bloomfield Hills, Lake Orion, and Plymouth fertility clinics. She believes in treating the whole person, not just a specific symptom. Dr. Budrys received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, before attending Wayne State University School of Medicine. She also completed her residency in OB/GYN at Royal Oak Beaumont. Dr. Budrys completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
Dr. Ronald Strickler, M.D.
Ronald C. Strickler MD FRCSC MBA is Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Dr. Strickler retired from clinical practice in 2018 to provide an education resource to the fellows, residents, and medical students who spend time at Michigan Center for Fertility and Women’s Health. During his 20 years at Washington University in St. Louis, he founded the first IVF program in Missouri, published the first study showing a value of ultrasound-guided embryo transfer, and was the Program Director for the REI fellowship. During a second 20-year tenure at Henry Ford Health System, he held the titles of Department Chairperson, Residency Program Director, Senior Staff REI, and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wayne State University School of Medicine. Nationally, Dr. Strickler has been an Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for both the general and REI-subspecialty certifications, a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology residencies and fellowships, a member of National Institutes of Health Reproductive Biology Study Section that awards research grant funds, and a reviewer and editorial board member of several journals. He has authored nearly 200 scientific articles, textbook chapters, research abstracts, and other medical publications. Most recently, he served as the interim Executive Director for the Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education.
Michael Kirk, ELD, MT, TS
Michael has over 25 years of laboratory experience in reproductive medicine. He received his board certification as an embryology laboratory director from the American Association of BioAnalysts. Michael is also a long-standing member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Alexa Karbowski, PA-C
Emily Schroeder, PA-C
Emily Schroeder is a certified Physician Assistant who joined the practice in 2017. Emily completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University while also playing on the MSU Women’s soccer team. She attended The University of Toledo and earned a master’s degree in Biomedical Science. Emily is passionate about fertility and women’s health with a focus on nutrition, movement, and stress management. Emily is currently seeing patients at our Warren office.
Mandi Johnson, PA-C
Mandi earned her Bachelor Degree in Biology at Wayne State University Honors College. Additionally, she went on to receive her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from there as well. She is also passionate about women’s health. Mandi has a patient-centered philosophy on caring for each person that comes to the practice.
