This place is a Mom’s dream with food and shopping! The owners have traveled around the country to find unique items for this cute shop. Let’s get that list crossed off while you enjoy the yummy hot chocolate! Although this charming place is located in a beach town, it doesn’t mean it’s closed for the season. Located in a busy Van Dyke plaza, this coffee shop IS its name! They welcome everyone and are kid-friendly. No paper to-go cups for you (unless you need it). Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters | Detroit

With three convenient locations (the other two are in Rochester and Royal Oak), this place has got Metro Detroit covered! Heat up with their hot chocolate, but do not forget to try their cheesecakes! Coffee + Cream | Westland

This place is known for its friendly staff and service, and I agree! It’s stationed right on JOY Rd! Their warm greetings are perfectly paired with their hot cocoa. They also serve tasty soups and sandwiches that are easy on the wallet. If in fact you aren’t ready to leave, it’s also an ice cream parlor. Talk about a food coma! Oh, and word on the ‘Gram… Gov. Whitmer loves this place! Located at 38340 Joy Rd., Westland.

Morley Chocolate Factory | Clinton Township

Morley Chocolate Factory, what better place to get a hot cocoa from? They also have an adult hot chocolate recipe on their website! All of their chocolate is made right here in the Mitten, so you could also purchase a holiday gift set for someone special! From Bumpy Cake to Sanders Hot Fudge Cream Puffs, we all get to enjoy the magic of this Chocolate Factory. Located at 23770 Hall Road, Clinton Township.

Astoria Pastry Shop | Royal Oak

Astoria Pastry Shop serves European pastries with a sip of smooth hot cocoa! Yes, please and thank you! This little pastry shop won so many awards, they are truly famous in Metro Detroit. Located at 320 Main Street, Royal Oak.

Zoet | Rochester

You say brunch, we say yes! Zoet offers all things Belgian. The word Zoet is a Dutch word for sweet. Their Hot Chocolate Milk is definitely a must-try! However, also on the menu is the Biscoff Caramel Chocolate Milk, which is to die for! While you’re there, make sure to order the Liege Waffle, made with Biscoff ice cream and baked apple. Biscoff is popular in the Netherlands – it is a peanut butter-like spread that is oh-so-yummy! Located at 103 West 4th Street, Rochester.

Chocolate Bar Cafe | Grosse Pointe Woods

On the eastside, if you have never tried Detroit’s Alinosi Ice Cream, here is your chance.  The hot cocoa here has seven flavors! Pick your poison: from salted caramel, to mexican, to, ’tis the season, candy cane! Alinosi Ice Cream parlors have served the Detroit community since 1921. They have an amazing backstory, so make sure to pop in and check it out! You will feel like Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s vibe of the Chocolate Bar Cafe. Main’s Treat Coffeehouse | Romeo

The charming little town of Romeo will make you feel like you are in a Netflix christmas movie! Don’t worry if sometimes after grocery shopping, you don’t feel like cooking. Order their Italian wood burning oven pizza while you’re there – the kids will love it!
