October is by far one of my favorite months. There are so many fun things to do! With Halloween just a couple of days away, we want to share our top five things to do to get ready for Halloween.
Terror on Tillson | Romeo
You already know how we feel about this one over here at Detroit Mom. It’s a team favorite and a family tradition. With Halloween being so close, there will be tons of houses decorated. Now is the perfect time to visit. Learn more by checking out Terror on Tillson: Everything You Need to Know Before Visiting.
Skeletons Are Alive! | Downtown Northville
Check out 120 life-sized skeletons lining streets of Downtown Northville. Main and Center streets are closed in the central downtown area creating the Social District where you can grab a drink to go and stroll around to check out the skeletons, live music, and other activities. Learn more by checking out the Skeletons Are Alive webpage.
Michigan Central Halloween Lights | Downtown Detroit
Michigan Central Depot in Downtown Detroit will be lit up in Halloween style from 5-9 p.m. on October 30 and 31. Cruise by to see a great light show from the comfort of your car. More information can be found on their Facebook event page.
Boo Your Friends
Nothing gets people in the Halloween spirit more than a bucket of surprises left on their doorstep. Simply grab some treats and cute Halloween-inspired favors, head to the link below to print our “You’ve Been BOO’ed” page, and ding-dong ditch your favorite neighbors. For more ideas on what to include in your BOO bucket, check out BOO! Someone in 3 Easy Steps.
Hit the Pumpkin Patch
If you haven’t already bought a dozen or so pumpkins for your porch, it’s time to grab some from our favorite local pumpkin patches. Then, them home and either paint or carve them up just in time for Halloween. Don’t forget to light them on trick or treat night! For the full rundown of where to get pumpkins in your area, be sure to see our guide to Pumpkin Patches In + Around Detroit.
