Wintertime Fun at Blake Farms

Detroit Mom partnered with the amazing people at Blake Farms to bring you this post. All opinions are our own.

For many of us, when we think of Blake Farms, we think of summer and fall activities: produce picking, Funland, and of course delicious cider and donuts. But did you know that Blake’s is open all year round, and that wintertime brings a whole new set of fun activities? You won’t want to miss everything they have to offer this winter.

Here’s the list of all the things you can check out with your family and friends at Blake’s:

Skating Rink

Lace up your skates and take a spin on the outdoor skating rink, now through March 6, 2022 at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill. Surrounded by holiday décor, lights, and music, the specially designed 2,000 square-foot rink uses synthetic ice. This allows for smooth skating regardless of temperatures and is absolutely perfect for beginning skaters. Hours are 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Fridays and 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Skating costs $10 per person and is available for purchase on their website or onsite. Guests can rent skates for $5 or you can bring your own. Skating parties and private rink rentals are also available.

Igloo Dining

Enjoy a meal and drinks in a cozy heated igloo at Blake’s Tasting Room and, new this year, at Blake’s Backyard daily through March 6, 2022. Select from an assortment of shareable appetizers and entrees and Tap Room favorites from Blake’s Hard Cider to Blake’s Brewery.

Igloos seat up to 10 people with a minimum food and beverage purchase. Reservations are required and must be made online with a $10 deposit. Visit their website to make reservations.

Tasting Room

Blake’s Tasting Room is open all year, seven days a week, and is excited to introduce new offerings this winter. The Tasting Room has weekly specials, Trivia Night, and live music. If you’re looking for a new brunch spot, check out the Tasting Room on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for a delicious brunch buffet. The cost is $19.95 for adults, $10.95 for kids 10 & under, and kids two and under are free. This includes a selection of sweet and savory brunch items and bottomless cider-mosas. Reservations are not required but are encouraged.

Cider Mill

The Cider Mill at Blake’s is open all year for you to purchase all of their tasty treats, including their famous donuts and cider. Each month they offer a new donut of the month that you simply don’t want to miss. For January, the donut of the month is a Hot Cocoa donut, and it is incredible. Blake’s also has their famous gluten-free donuts available year-round so you don’t need to wait for the fall to fill your craving!
