Bump, Baby & Beyond {Our First Event!} Recap

Where do I even begin with our Bump, Baby & Beyond event? For our first event we couldn’t have asked for a better way to introduce Detroit Moms Blog. For months we brainstormed ideas on how we could show the community what we truly are and what we intend to do. When presented with the opportunity of working with The Bump + City Moms Blog we were over-the-top {excited} that we could bring an event to moms-to-be, moms thinking about conceiving and moms in their first year of motherhood.

What a perfect audience!

And so the planning began {silent scream inserted}!  From the venue, to the food, the décor, the panel of experts, the swag/giveaways, mini massages and much more. 

We were on a mission to show everyone what we are most passionate about – local moms + local brands coming to together for a night just for them. I think we succeeded in showing them that we truly care and want them to feel like they are a part of something bigger. An event ALL about them!

We spent countless hours contacting amazing local companies, piling up boxes of swag + giveaways in any open space within our homes, connecting with women that share the same passion as we do and finally bringing it all together in one extraordinary evening. We hope you enjoy the recap of the evening while we recognize the wonderful businesses that made Bump, Baby & Beyond possible.

Our Venue.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Carly {owner} of The Dailey Method in Birmingham. From the first time we walked into her studio we fell in love with the atmosphere. It’s seriously like receiving a big hug! It’s so cute, quaint and intimate. She welcomed us with open arms and she absolutely loves supporting local MOMpreneurs. Her studio was exactly what we visioned when planning this event.  We filled the studio with tables that contribute to motherhood. The following tables joined us: Essential Family Chiropractics, Prints and Printsess, Nature’s Playhouse, Modern Natural Baby, The Bubble Club, and Women First Midwives. And a special thanks to Robyn for the relaxing mini massages! 

 

The Food.

Oh.My.Goodness! We absolutely loved the Mediterranean display that Holiday Market set up for everyone. They did such an amazing job on the appetizers. I don’t know about you but those meatballs with tzatziki sauce were so de-lic-ous! Several us made a couple {maybe 3, but who’s counting} trips up to the table. It was that good! We can’t forget the dessert table, oh the desserts! Lil’ Cupcake Sweet Treats had such an adorable set up with a bee themed gender reveal. Every mom got a cupcake with either blue or pink inside. How fun was it to bite into those sweet lil’ cupcakes only to see if it was a boy or girl? What a great way to share the sex of your baby with your friends and family. And they provided cakeballs that were super tasty and so stinkin’ cute!

 

The Swag. oh my!

We were absolutely in {love} with our swag bags! I wish I could have purchased a ticket for one of those amazing bags. They were packed full of some incredible products from local businesses as well as national. 

Who doesn’t love a bag tailored just for them?

We saw so many moms trying to sneak a peak in their bags throughout the evening – who can blame them, I would have tried to. It was so exciting to see the contents of their bags posted on social media once they got home and had a chance to unload it.  I bet they had so much fun going through every single thing! I know we {loved} loading them up!

The Panel of Experts.

These women were absolutely wonderful!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group of speakers. All of them are mothers and entrepreneurs. Patty the owner of Baby Sleep All Night gave us an insight into the importance of not only baby getting a good night sleep but also mom. Dr. Natalie owner of Essential Family Chiropractors and one of our phenomenal sponsors introduced everyone to the importance of chiropractics during pregnancy and after delivery. She also shared how important it is for baby to receive chiropractic care after birth. Becca owner of Elephant Ears showed all the moms the many benefits of wearing your baby. Natalie of Natural Compass Health talked about hypnobirthing and how beneficial it can be to the mother.  Tracie and Chris, Midwives at Women First Midwives led us into the world of midwifery and the new Karmanos Natural Birthing Center that opened last week. Sadly, Stacy the founder of Beautiful Beginnings was unable to make it due to a birth. We were so sad she couldn’t share how amazing placenta encapsulation is. There is always next time!

We are so truly thankful for everything these women did to contribute to our event. These women inspire us on a daily basis!
