7 Fun At-Home Valentine’s Day Activities for the Whole Family

Over the past few years, many of us have traded time out with activities we can do at home. Whether the whole family is stuck at home or you’re choosing to stay in, I’ve compiled a fun list of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day that everyone will enjoy! These Valentine’s Day activities for the whole family are sure to be a hit.

7 fun at-home Valentine’s Day activities for the whole family:

1. Start the day with a Valentine’s Day breakfast.

Make pancakes in the shape of hearts, or add a little red food coloring and have fun with it. Serve with other red foods, like strawberries and raspberries. Add hot cocoa as another fun touch!

2. Make heart-shaped pizza.

There’s nothing I love more than spending time in the kitchen together. Making heart-shaped pizzas can be easy enough for the whole family. Have fun with it and get different toppings!

3. Create a fancy dinner (hint: it doesn’t actually have to be fancy!).

It’s easy to create a “fancy dinner” at home by setting the ambiance of a fancy restaurant–light candles, dim the lights, and pretend you are eating at a fancy restaurant! Don’t forget to use your indoor voices and proper manners. You can choose to dress nicely, but it’s not required, and what you eat doesn’t matter. I suggest some music to set the fancy mood. And a huge bonus, this gives you the opportunity to discuss expected behavior in fancy places like a nice restaurant.

4. Decorate cookies.

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Get the whole family to use their creative juices (and baking skills!) to decorate heart-shaped or Valentine’s-themed cookies. The best part is enjoying them together!

5. Have a game night.

I don’t know about you, but the competitive side of me loves a good game night. This is easily something the whole family can join in on for some quality time together.

6. Host a movie night.

Pop some popcorn and pick out a favorite family movie (bonus points if it’s a love story!). We make a big movie space on the living room floor with as many pillows and blankets as we can find.

7. Get crafty.

Pull out the scissors, glue sticks, and construction paper and make some old-fashioned valentines for each member of your family! Who doesn’t love a homemade card? Don’t forget to include a little note about what you love most about each person.
